First Post sorry if its ass
Introduction: Rest your finger on your infraorbital rim (bottom of eye socket) and squint a few times. Feel the muscle and tendons tensioning?
Well that tension can grow your infras. This entire theory relies on the effect known as compensatory periosteal hypertrophy. ELI5, essentially applied mechanical stress to a bone causes it to grow. This is almost like Wolff's Law, but for a muscle pulling on a bone. In biological terms, osteogenic cells sense mechanical stress from muscle contractions/tendon pull via Sharpey's fibers, activating osteroblasts to deposit new cortical bone on the surface of said bone. The most well documented example of this is Masseter hypertrophy. Overgrown masseters can cause spurs/hyperostosis of up to 2-5mm in some cases. This is caused by either high load intensity or repetition. Athletes also see a similar effect, such as sprinters will see increased bone density & size due to Wolff's Law alongside compensatory hypertrophy.
But Thomas, how is this going to improve OUR recessed infras?????
Take a look at people with high scleral show under their pupil:
RECESSED INFRAS:
Notice how none of the above pictures have tight and straight lower eyelids
Now look at people with tight/not droopy lower eyelids:
Another even better example is to look at people who have gotten infraorbital implants, almost all of them go from droopy lower eyes to more "squinty":
Remember, look at scleral show
As you can see, recessed infraorbitals and large scleral show/relaxed lower eyelids evidently are linked. So how can you change YOUR eyes?
SQUINT SQUINT SQUINT SQUINT SQUINT
(anecdotal) I started looksmaxxing around 15 (19 now) and at around ~16 I began permasquinting for better eye area. My eye area has improved a shit ton, not only the shape and my PFL, but I recently noticed I have no more eyebags. I used to have pretty bad bags/dark undereyes, my infras were fairly recessed. After squinting for so long my infras have improved tremendously. My undereye support is fucking insane now and I could pull all nighter after all nighter and no longer get eyebags like I used to. My maxilla has not had much projection either as I did not start consistently mewing and chewing until I reached 17, unfortunately a bit too late.
So, how do you implement this into your daily?
At a base level, all you have to do is squint! I gave an example of compensatory hypertrophy working earlier on overgrown masseters (google if you want), and the theory should apply to infras as well. The infraorbital bone is one of the thinnest bones in your face (~1-2mm) vs your mandible angle (~4-5 mm). As a result, you do not need nearly as much mechanical tension to cause compensatory hypertrophy of your infraorbital bone. On top of increasing the size of your infraorbital bone, it also pulls the under eye skin tighter leading to even better results.
Zeta is actually a really good example of this effect with him as a child vs now: He used to have very recessed infras and horrible tear-throughs, but now has insane undereye support as a permasquinter.
Conclusion:
Start permasquinting. After 12-16 hours a day of squinting your eyes WILL change. To even further enhance effects, start doing obicularis oculi exercises to further strengthen the area, making squinting easier as well as creating more mechanical tension on your infraorbitals. I am going to do more research and see if this theory could somehow be applied to the zygos as well.
