Not necessarily true that population size affects extremities in ratings; notice how black women are a greater proportion of the population yet have significantly lower extremes. Also, white women are a significantly greater proportion of the population than latina women yet they have similar extremes. And extremes aside, medians for white, asian, and latina women aren't significantly different.

A better explanation for why men rate the attractive white women as much more attractive but unattractive white women as less attractive is likely that men are better able to distinguish attractiveness in European faces due to familiarity/ own-race bias.

It got published here and its this study, no indication that other studies don't accept the results. They didn't use one sample per race, methodology here. What they did was have multiple faces, each with varying degrees of facial traits from white, black, or asian women. Also, there were more raters in this study than the 2012 Lewis study you posted, and arguably from a more diverse cultural background (Northeastern University vs Cardiff University).

Although its a different study from the Economist one you posted, neither groups of researchers were allowed to say which dating service their data was from. This one used a dating site with 9 million registered users, 200 million messages from November 2003 to October 2010 in the 20 largest metropolitan cities in USA. The Economist study used 1 month of data from January 2014 in 4 metropolitan cities in USA. Not saying one is better than the other, the results are the results, but you could argue the Economist one may not be as wholly representative of America.

It is difficult though, because unless Tinder and Bumble release their data we're going to have to draw from these unamed anonymous dating sources.

Which brings me to this Quartz study. It draws data from "Are You Interested", which is a Facebook dating app. That's much smaller and definitely not representative of the US population. Just look at the results, the lowest response rates for women responding to men surprisingly don't put Asian men as the least desirable, despite most data from that period showing Asian men to be the bottom of the barrel.

The OkCupid post also makes a point regarding this topic of data sources - the more niche the dating site, the less desirable white women tend to be. Which may explain the discrepancy between the Economist study/ Quartz study vs. the data I post.

Yes, this is one result that seems to emerge from time to time. Here though, the composite single-race Caucasian faces were still rated as more attractive than single-race Asian or mixed-race Asian/ Caucasian. Also they had 120 raters, more than any of the studies you posted.

None of these is to claim what you posted is wrong. I'm just making the point that 1) its not entirely clear Asian women are more desirable or rated more attractive, especially in the mainstream dating, 2) there's a decent body of research that suggests otherwise, and 3) the research that suggests otherwise from your narrative isn't necessarily "fringe" or less reliable.

Edit: Also this is not a "study" per se, but you can't discount forums like this or this where there are ~400K members each. Just look at all the top voted posts by month, year, and all time. Definitely a very Eurocentric female beauty standard with remarkably few exceptions.
