Hitler had more control over the hearts and minds of the people and was an anomaly compared to every other dictator.

*Only one who didn't take power by force

*Chose his ideology over the preservation of his regime even when it was clear that doing so would be the end of it (the only true believer)

*Chose to commit suicide instead of trying ti escape

They are equal realistically, hitler was also constsntly described as having an aphrodesiac effect on women which stalin did not have

Maybe, who knows how things might have played out if they'd won? Hitler wouldn't have lived forever and the problem of every successful dictatorship would have inevitably reared its ugly head.

I disagree with that, they prob would of operated like china and lasted for a while, especially with their extreme public approval and millitary power, they would have an extremely entrenched SS aristocracy as well which would help consolidate power, succession would not be too much of an issue imo, not all dictatorships are destined to fall due to the nature of its gov

They're all destined to fall because of the nature of people. And China was a disaster.

You're too young. Too simple. Sometimes naive.

Disagree, most dictatorships (in the modern sense) fell due to failures of solidifying political control or not having full political support from an entrenched elite, when a dictatorship is able to rely to get past that intial hurdle it becomes far easier to run, in regards to china it was intially a disaster but the grest leap forward did lead to huge industrialization and successors like deng managed to modernize the state to the point where it now has a very meritocratic and loyal elite to its political establishment and runs very effectively compared to its intial maoist past, also not to mention leaders like putin who although not fully a dictator are extremely successful authoritarian leaders who have consolidated power via smart tactics of making the elite dependent on the state presidency and thus alligning their interests with that of the state president to gain loyalty

What makes you think any regime could ever have full political support from an entrenched elite? Underlying ambitions and opportunities will always arise.

Ever played the game "telephone" in school? If nothing ever stays the same over the course of two or three minutes what makes you think it can over the course of multiple generation?

You give mankind too much credit.

In regards to party states like china, they explicitly tie the interests of the party and rhe elite togrther so that they are alligned in their interests which prevents fighting, and they use a complex system in the party in order to meritocratically select a successor in advance while also using age and term limits in top leadership positions to prevent power accumulation in one individual while also making it so that the leader retires from his position beforr death but still retains an influential role until phased out, this prevents the instability of succession issues while also providing a structure that is very rigid and extremely hard to shake unstable regardless of opposing factions in the party, by removing the personalist aspect of a dictatorship they make it far more stable

Tldr is that the operate more like a corporation with its leadership than say a normal dictatorship with the president being akin to a CEO in a way which makes it authoritarian but also very stable @Lefty Rankin

My goodness.

That's not true at all.

There's always been a tremendous amount of fighting amongst the three factions of the inner governing party.

And Xi has made himself dictator for life since like 2018.

There is fighting but its not akin to a crisis snd is largely restrained, and yes xi did make it more personalized but I don't think its a huge threat
