My question to the website: why do men follow women around in a creepy way?

Trauma, loneliness, and the fact that men are not socialized the way women are. There are other factors, of course, but in general, these ones reign supreme.

What about as well men are protectors - so we when they see a girl they care about they follow to make sure she's safe

I don't know if you're making a joke, but I doubt that ever happens. I mean, I'm sure that's how some men may justify their behavior, but it's still stalking no matter the motivation.
