Stanford is comparatively more social than most other schools since it’s a residential college where you live in camps for all 4 years. I loved that. The upside is that the campus feels like a mini-city, where all the things, events, arts, and lectures are either run by talented fellow students, or some really “successful” faculty or world leaders in their field. The downside is that it’s a bubble. No one really goes out to Palo Alto since it’s a very expensive city with very little to do for young people.
This environment, however, really fosters growth. You have room to fall, and you have lots of people around you whom you can look up to and learn from. Honestly, I don’t think I would’ve become who I am today without going there.
