For context I'm 21, 197cm. So March this year I was 115kg and I basically starvemaxxed and walkmaxxed to 81kg. Like walking 20km on random hikes and such. I got muscular ass legs now but my upper body looks like a weakling. People treat me so differently now though, it's so weird cuz I grew up as the weird unhygienic fat kid.

I'd say I'm around 17-18% body fat right now and I have BARELY visible upper abs under the bestest of the best lighting. I took blood tests and my testosterone is normal even after allat starvemaxxing, just low iron and insanely high cortisol (i expected it cuz I'm antisocial af).

I never really built muscle seriously, just had those motivation spikes that lasted a few months at a time over a few years. My peak was 70kg bench 10 reps, like feeling the mind-muscle connection is so hard for me. I can do like 20 pushups tops and I still can't do a pullup even after all that weight loss (never trained back properly).

Well I wanna slay ltbs now so I gotta build some muscle. Now luckily I moneymaxxed early on so I got myself a pretty good homegym (bench, adj dumbells, power tower). Can you guys tell me if I should go on a proper lean bulk or eat at maintenance? How much calories would that be? I'm thinking of spamming chicken, beef, salmon, greek yogurt and rice like every day for diet.

Also if you got any starvemaxxing questions ask away.

Calories depends too much on the person and other factors such as metabolism and lifestyle

you are not THAT lean so imo no need for a bulk you can put on some muscles even if not in a big bulk
"lean bulk"

eat proteins, carbs and train hard if you are a beginner there's no reason for it to not work
just practice a progressive overload on every exercises

So just eating slightly above maintenance? Also in this case (probably a dumb question), but should I keep going on these calorie burning hikes while also working out at the same time or would that mean I'd need to eat more to build muscle?

yeah slightly and track your weight see how you react and adapt

you could still stick to low frequency cardio, high frequency pretty much kill gains,
but depends if you have some sport activities besides gym
if you don't have yes you can still do treadmill like 2-3 times a week for 45min it helps with bloat and could help a little staying clean and "lean" but you don't need to do it ed
