If you want to get a heavy bench for your ego start doing static holds after benching or even everyday if u want to. I’m going for 35lbs past my pr from 2 weeks ago tmrw jfl. If you really want a heavy bench though bench 3 times a week and do the static holds everyday. I dont know if it affects recovery but its working for me

you should do 1.5 times and have a spotter make sure you dont drop it and hold for 10-30 seconds or as long as you can

I just benched tdy and it went up 15 since last week

Negatives have helped me out a lot too, get someone to spot you and go a weight you can maybe do one rep of and then just do straight slow negatives
