don’t push your self on to groups tho just try to connect with people your friends might know some people try to befriend people and just don’t be arrogant that’s what i have done atleast

Your status also depends on how you look - you wouldn't be as popular as someone thats twice as attractive & taller than you (unless you got a shit ton of money). That being said, if you're beyond the point of saving, "statusmaxxing" is just cope.
BUT
If you surround yourself with the right people, it could definetly help you(r image). Either by you simply having the halo effect (around people that are less attractive than you) or just by getting in contact with people that are already popular. Don't force yourself onto them tho, or you'll be seen as someone that's annoying as shit.
