Steam machine is out for $1050. Thoughts gamers?

What do you nigga think? I personally think it's a very fair ask. Maybe from a pure price to perfomance it's lacking but it has its own USP imo and even Valve openly admitted on their blog that global supply chain spikes for SSDs and RAM forced them to price the unit roughly $250 to $300 higher than their original target.

Im a software developer and Devops engineer. I didn't just build my own computer. I optimized the infrastructure down to the kernel.

Price to performance is pretty terrible even for a 2tb model

The 2 tb model yes is a hard sell but the the regular variant is not bad at all imo. If you want a zero friction, plug and play PC gaming experience on a 4K TV without troubleshooting Windows drivers or dealing with keyboard etc. This one makes a strong case. Also full access to steam with no monthly subscriptions. Comparing to a PC is just wrong.
