Actual nerdy computer science stuff is cool (building programs, low level stuff, interesting conceptual things like functional programming/Lisp/etc, contributing to fun open source projects, etc) however 90% of people in tech these days are low/mid IQ and only got into "coding" in college because they heard it paid well. Those are the people who follow "technology" and post about self driving cars, chatGPT, etc and they are usually annoying and fairly stupid.
