Stereotypes are basically generalizations.
Some generalizations are "stupid", if for 10 persons 1 has a particular trait then it's not a representative generalization
But in some races, communities or group more people with a certain trait exist than others, imagine by a factor of 2x or 10x compared to the other, even when it's like 1/100, this being considered an outlier, it radically changes the perception of people and take
A certain predisposition of a group having certain a characteristic of can also move the average up or down compared to other group

Most stereotypes and generalizations work like this
