All human beings experience 6 emotions at base, those being: Anger, sadness, disgust, fear, surprise, and happiness.

If you are perceptive enough, you’ll notice that only one of those emotions is objectively good 100% of the time. This means that human beings are all biologically predisposed to feeling negative for a large majority of their time (85% of the time.)

With this being in mind, it is no wonder we chase happiness. It is the only warm ray of sunshine we get in the complex emotional system that is the human mind. Happiness is everything, it is the only objectively good thing in life. There is a reason it is one of the 3 fundamental rights of all humans, it is just as important as life and liberty.

However as we are so predisposed to negativity, we forget this. We attach our own labels to happiness, change the means of reaching it, and often times, as the imperfect beings we are, we are incorrect. We don’t reach that happiness. This is due to the means to reach it, as humans are extremely competitive we think “if I’m better than that guy” “if I can see that person fail” “if people like me” then we will reach the constant state of happiness we desire so deeply.

However this will never make you happy. As long as you care what another person says, you will never be happy.

I know this better than most. For the large majority of my life, I was an angry man with a hair fuse temper. I was angry, I was nothing like who I am now. I would obsess over what people thought of me, their opinions, what they had to say to me, and most importantly, the negative things they had to say about me.

It is a common phenomenon, but a human who has received 100 compliments in a day will have their day ruined by a singular insult, as we are prone to experiencing negativity.

This was me, and then, slowly, day by day, I let it go. I had come to a point where I was constantly angry, and I realized that I literally couldn’t sustain being a wrath filled being for the rest of my life. It would make me miserable and it would make those around me miserable. Nobody would like me. So I changed, it was hard but it was also simple. I didn’t respond to a dude trying to pick a fight with me, I stopped taking things on social media seriously, and overtime that molded me into the person I am today.

I still get annoyed occasionally when I deal with a particularly insufferable person, whether that be here or in real life but I always stop myself from showing the mildest antagonism towards them, because if I do that, I lose. I will be as angry as they are, and it’ll hurt me more than it hurts them.

A place like this is a breeding ground for those negative feelings, specifically hate and anger, as everyone wants to defend their group and crown themselves at the top, meaning me and everything I stand for are slandered and reduced to a sodomized fetish every single day on here, however it means nothing to me. They are words, they are not real and have no effect, and I hope the best for all the users on this forum.

Your life will improve the day you realize what the true meaning of forgiveness is, I know the idea of forgiving someone because it’s better for you is infuriating at base, I used to think like that too. But you will only find peace when you realize what it means, that forgiveness is for you, not for anyone else. It’s to ensure your happiness, for you to not waste time being angry and making your own life miserable for no real reason. Remember, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t matter. Don’t give up your peace for some quick dopamine that’ll leave you lower than you started.

@Jason Voorhees I wrote this thread with your recent one in mind. While what you wanted to type out to that user was vulgar, and with me not being ethnic, would be targeted towards me as well, I know it means nothing really. I hope you find your peace.

thats cool and all but i dont like myself so what do i do then

I learnt this much later in life but you will make enemies very quickly if you are harsh and don't have filter over your speech. Like I was very abusive and vulgar in high school It might seem cool at first with the other kids encouraging you calling you savage for insulting and humiliating another person but in adult world it comes off as cheap and low class.

I've slowly learnt to control my impulses and learnt to put my point across without sounding rude and aggressive. You must be able to argue effectively and not seem like pushover while still maintaining your dignity and cross it sometimes when the person doesn't deserve any. It is a skill that you every man over the age of 20 needs to learn and master imo .

Also FYI. That user also made many racially charged remarks demeaning and insulting non whites and even slavs all the time. Even he said a lot of vulgar stuff.I only typed that out in a fit of rage to give him a taste of his own medicine but deleted it. I don't want to get to his level. He is probably some jaded teenager
