If you do it internally in a Western country it is as safe and risky as a trimax.
Sure you cant really walk unasisted for 3-6 months. But you can also not really Chef fully for 1-3 months with trimax.
Most botches and complications you see with LL are all functionality releated and therefore easily treatable much easier then having a bad astetic result.
Cost ?
LL 3 inch 40-50k, trimax about 20-30 with braces.
Sure its a little more expensive but not really that much.
LL is not 100k except for doing it with top docs like parley, thaller or dong hoon lee. These docs are like Sailers of LL. Extremly expensive for best result but you will get 99% of the way with any other LL surgeon.
"Why do I see so many botches" most of LL botches happen with surgerys in ungeulated third World countries and with external fixateurs. If you step away fro, those two factors it will be much easier. Also these MfS often lengthen like 10cm on tibia which you shouldnt do.

yeah I've seen short slayers, bad frames slayers, ppl with skin issues etc etc all it came down to for them was face so yea most of the time increasing facial attraction will end up being of higher ROI

Problem is if the technology progresses to where it’s a 3-6 month process including recovery, minimal long term loss of athletic ability, and a price tag of 10-20k (god forbid under 10k) then LL will become a mandatory surgery and overall will just be another case of the bar being raised for men, similar to how things played out with gymcelling, shoe lifts, and so on.
