I was talking with @jahsuuu about the same exact topic a few days ago.

Basically life isn’t about women. You should strive to be rich and successful with status.
If your only purpose in life is to be with someone and not be “lonely” then you probably will never be happy.

Women should be just a bonus in your life, and not your main priority.

The only reason why being rich and successful is something that men try to achieve is because it is programmed in us because it leads to higher reproductive success. Guys can tell themselves they want to be rich and successful or whatever just for themselves, but the only reason their body is like that is because of natural selection (guys with genes making them strive to be rich and powerful having more sex, and passing their genes on). Also when you get women you won't be fulfilled even if you're a chad, but also when you get rich and successful you won't be fulfilled. Your brain will just set new goals for you to improve your reproductive success / survival.

Or because you just enjoy what you do lol. Once you reach a certain point with women and financial success, it just doesn't matter as much anymore and you focus more on things you actually enjoy doing. Pretty sure a billionaire isn't going to try to make another billion just to impress women or for "survival purposes".

Yes. People play video games, watch movies, surf the web, travel, play sports, work on their cars, build shit/work on projects, etc strictly to attract the opposite sex. Makes 100% logical sense. Humans are constantly evolving and we're at a point in human history where we have more freetime and leisure time than ever. So once you secure a spouse or partner or whatever, that shit no longer matters. You then have to figure out what you want to do with the rest of your freetime. Humans aren't merely surviving anymore. We're thriving.

You don’t understand my point. All of the things you listed feel good because they involve neural pathways that are activated when you do something that helps you survive or attract mates. Even though watching movies doesn’t help you survive, your ancestors needed to socialise to survive and the people who enjoyed it more were better at it, therefore passing on their genes of enjoying socialising. Now you have those genes and watch a movie and it feels good because you’re seeing other people socialise. It could be other mechanisms too but that’s not the point.
Other than doing drugs, the root cause for everything that feels good to you is survival or mate attraction. It’s the result of natural selection over hundreds of thousands if not millions of years.
