if your plates are even remotely open. dont take this shit. it's the harshest acne medication possible and it speeds up growth plate closure (same shit with androgenic shit). if you care even a little bit about height, don't take this shit. If all growth plates are 100% completely closed (not just left hand x-ray) with no possible fusion left. then you can start taking accutane (or androgenic shit).

at high doses yes, but i feel that most plp on here run 40mg and under.

this is about as conclusive as the study that linked Obesity and Criminal Behavior, in the Abstract conclusion section, it states on that there is no clear concession on what dosage or even what process links Isotretinoin to Premature Epiphyseal closure, only that it apparently does this in some individuals.

A study from 2025 came to the conclusion that Accutane only effected velocity and not bone maturation like in the studies described,

"Among 226 patients treated with isotretinoin and 1179 controls, final height did not differ significantly between groups (−0.67 cm; CI: −2.21 to 0.87). However, patients treated with isotretinoin had a lower postmedication initiation height velocity (−0.12 cm/month; CI: −0.21 to −0.04, P = .005) and a greater reduction in post- versus premedication initiation height velocity (−0.31 cm/month; CI: −0.54 to −0.07, P = .011). No significant dosage effects were observed." [1]

It's highly unlikely to meaningfully effect height during a course, previous studies were inclusive with how it was associated with height, and also labeled it have osteoporosis effects as well, which is contradicted in other studies saying that higher dosages of Isotretinoin increased Bone formation and signs of less resorption. there are only around 9 cases of reported Epiphyseal Premature Fusion in this study, and only 41 worldwide, and not confirmed either[2]

Safe to say yo i think it's low risk to have a normal dosage of around 20-40mg with a cumulative
without substantial worry of height change based on current evidence, and if ur worried plenty of things that effect height positively u can likely take with.
