I had spent a year sun gazing and sun bathing, and was enthusiastically consuming 10-20 carrots a day. Resultingly, my olive skin had transformed from pasty white to a light golden brown. Cleanly shaven, I looked Northern Italian as a slavic German.

I then had a Swedish girl come up to me, smile at me and ask if I was from Afghanistan, Turkey or Greece.

Shocked, and mildly disgruntled. I asserted no, I am a Slavic European. She seemed visibly disappointed.
She asked if I had instagram and I said 'no'; she asked if I have snapchat and I said 'no'.
'I can give you my email or whatsapp number', I offered.
'Sorry, I don't give out my number like that. How about facebook?' she retorted, making a confused expression.
I responded that 'I don't do facebook'.
'Well we probably aren't compatible', she concluded.

I wished her well and she walked away from me.

I should have said I was White Jamaican and called her a bombaclat.

Tbh I think what was really wrong with that interaction was the fact I wasn't social media maxxed.
Social media MATTERS in the 21st century for appearing Neurotypical and friendly.
If you lack key social medias (insta, sc and fb) you are perceived as a socially disgusting atypical subhuman awkward freak (which is what I am).

While some of my ancestors were Germans who lived in East Germany for 200-300 years (Prussia), they also had a slavic last name. Therefore, when I said I was slavic German I was alluding to my slavic last name (so that I wasn't lying).

Yes, because I regularly check my university email, in addition to my mobile number. Therefore, I offered her my mobile number and email as I do not have insta, sc nor do I actively use fb (because I do not have many friends).
