1. Incels don’t seem to be pickier nor have unreasonable standards relative to non-incel men (Image 1).
2. Incels misperceive female mating preferences more than non-incel men (Image 2). Incels especially misperceive the female desire for kindness and intelligence in a mate (two of the top and most robustly desirable traits in evolutionary psychology).
3. Incels are neither disproportionately White nor disproportionately right-wing (Image 3). They are a diverse group politically and ethnically/racially.
4. Incels are much more likely than non-incel men to be NEET (not in employment, education, or training). They are also much more likely to be living at home with their parents (50%).

7. Incels score higher in rape myth acceptance and hostile sexism than non-incels, but are less likely to say they are willing to rape if they could get away with it (13.6% vs 19-35% of non-incels across samples).
8. Only a small subset of incels believe violence is justified (5.5% “often”). They tend to be more bark than bite (as also reflected in the very low prevalence of actual incel violence). Most incels don’t actually admire Elliot Rodgers (mean score of 1.8 out of 5).
9. On a list of out-groups, incels rated “feminists” as the biggest enemy of the incel community.
