Studying for grades is becoming exponentially more futile

I honestly feel bad for kids in school with aspirations. AI is getting exponentially better and shows no sign of stopping.

Soon it will be smarter than every human who has ever lived, and also be in robotic form. It won't get tired, won't ask for a raise or go on strike, won't make mistakes.

Jfl if you believe the WEF saying it will create a net 70M jobs. This is fundamentally different to ATMs, to computers.

If it can become sentient, has motor skills better than humans and an IQ higher than everyone.

Then considering that point of a business is to maximise profits, fewer and fewer jobs will exist.

I don't see how this is considered doomerposting? It's just logical, no?

Human entertainment, personal branding etc, charisma will still exist and matter. But all the traditional jobs will be taken.

People should be preparing for this. Will govts really give people UBI if there's mass unemployment or will they let them starve? It's wrong to assume UBI.

And if they do, they will just print the currency and hyperinflate it (this is happening anyway BTW)

If you're not close to graduating HE/college/uni with good prospects then studying is a mistake IMO. A 3 year degree and in those 3years the world will be more different that it has ever been in any other 3yr period. It's just exponential growth.

I do agree modern university education and programs are outdated and don't benefits people much but there's still a ton of jobs regardless of AI. @Glorious King

Right but in 3yrs will this still be true
If ASI/AGI happens
No. AGI is not happening in few years it is going to take decades if it happens at all. We are still fundamentally limited by current machine learning methods.

Is this true? So musk, Dario etc all lying then? They say it's possible in 5yrs

true

especially if we talk about industries which opt for a more hands on approach like automotive , architecture

but for it/tech ai mogs yet people dont trust fully , so even if people manage to be above avg they might have a chance to land a decentish job ngl

AI currently suffers from two things stochastic parroting and hallucinations. What companies have been doing so force is brute forcing the way by burning money on processing power and data to make it as accurate as possible but these two problems will always remain unless there's some breakthrough for a completely different type of learning. We have made some progress with architectural changes but they still remain and as long as they remain AGI cannot become a reality
