I wanted to go overseas but my parents didn’t rly wanna see me go so far I would’ve easily made it into top schools tho

I went to an tier 1 CS school in India. This was back in 2021-22. SATs weren't mandatory due to COVID but still gave them, also IELTS applied to a few and in early admissions got offers from Duke, UCLA, Umich, also got merit based scholarships from lower tier unis like University of Texas at Dallas iirc but my parents were hesitant to send me abroad this was back when I was very distant and detached from eveyrone and had symptoms of depression, costs were also still very high so I chose this to do it in India. I completed my degree for a fraction of the cost and graduated last year but that thing still stings me tbh. You win some you lose some I guess
