secondly, sub-5 refers to the decile scale and not the psl scale. as in, 5/10, not psl 5.

thirdly, even if it did refer to the psl scale, your claim is still not exactly correct. sub means below, right? 5 psl is above average, but sub5 also includes sub4, sub3, sub2 etc. so, it can still definitely be used as an insult, even in regards to the psl scale.
