Basically because most people are right handed(crying as a lefty), so their dominant hand is right, and basically that means that it's more prone to injuries of some type(this was determined when hard labor for kids was still a thing) and etc etc etc. And even if you are left handed, current day standard, which was set decades ago still suggest taking left hand measurment, and to easier comparison(clearer to compare left vs left than left vs right)
So if you hadn't had any specific left hand trauma nor you casually dont have left hand you should do it on it
