Subconsciously, people want to be dominated

And this goes for ALL people and not just women. People talk about how much they value freedom, freedom of speech, democracy etc but it's all bullshit. On a Subconscious level, people want a strong leader to dominate them and tell them what to do. They don't actually want freedom, unless they are a rare alpha. This is why civil liberty is dying in the west. People just don't care.
