What is it?
Like I know it’s more of a spiritual sect of Islam but that’s all I know Bhai jaani
It's a spiritual gathering where you gather your energy to remember God

This people in this gathering belong to Qadiri silsila (order ) . Although it doesn't happen in this video, sometimes people lose their consciousness in such gathering and enter a trance state and experience spiritual ecstasy

It's called haal

No, I can bring a hadith

As for dancing, Imam Ahmad relates from Anas (Allah be well pleased with him), with a chain of transmission all of whose narrators are those of Bukhari except Hammad ibn Salama, who is one of the narrators of Muslim, that the Ethiopians danced in front of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace); dancing and saying [in their language], “Muhammad (pbuh) is a righteous servant.” The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “What are they saying?” And they said, “‘Muhammad (pbuh) is a righteous servant’” (Musnad al-Imam Ahmad. 6 vols. Cairo 1313/1895. Reprint. Beirut: Dar Sadir, n.d., 3.152)."

I am a sinner (fasiq) , far from a sufi but l love every single sufi saint and l do read their books and follow them to the extent it's possible.

Sufism, ihsan is the heart of Islam

Intresting, it seems like a siance are you sure they are praying to god as usually when people lose consciousness when praying it’s due to demons entering them. But if you mean they sing for so long in happiness that they become tired and lose consciousness then I get you just never heard of anything regarding this in a abrahamic religion

Are Sufi like monks? Are they more religious than other Muslims

sufis literally smoke weed because they think it will bring them closer to god jfl

No smoking weed is haram as it's a hallucinogen

Sufis follow Shariah strictly

If you violate shariah , you are not even following the basic rules, forget sufism

In this path, you die before death. You kill your nafs, lower desires and become closer to God as a result

Salafis are on the right in this one
No, salafism came into existence in 1800s, it's a literalist low IQ take on deep concepts of Islam. They ignore tradition and scholarship the most ironically

As long as they don't curse companions, I don't mind them. Salafi hatred is actually fueled by anti Persian racism. It's dividing the ummah more and more.

Isn’t sufism bid’ah akhi?
I have quoted a hadith to back this practice, it can't be biddat. Anyways, every sufi order traces its practice back to the Prophet (pbuh).

It's literally a made-up desert religion just like Judaism and Christianity, there are so many indicators that the revelations are not scientifically correct and many times Muhammad would conveniently say verses to get what he wants in a certain situation. Plus, you would hate Islamic rule if it was implemented where you live.

Salafism was spread by Petro dollars

I read the hadith, The prophet himself never engaged in such practices. I also don’t think that he approved of it. What do the major ullema say of this?

If the Prophet (pbuh) doesn't stop an act happening in front of him, it's allowed. This is a principle of Fiqh, jurisprudence. Cause the Prophet (pbuh) will always stops a wrong deed and correct people.

This is not wrong, they are remembering God. Read the hadith l quoted

Anyways the ummah will have 73 sects as prophesied, its unavoidable. We accept the fact we will disagree. No perfectionist pretention

I’m not very knowledgeable, but my teachers in the mosque used to say that the sufis are diverted from the straight path in some ways.
Ofc lol, I can see you are from a salafi background but every side has arguments and evidence. We should accept our differences and not make a big deal out of it.

yes, and you are one who is part of a sect

sunni prescribing to hanafi or the 3 other schools of jurisprudence or you're coping hard about islam

Shiasm is just Following the prophet, quran and the ahlubait
iran was sunni before being forced into shiism by ismail, if we get down to the nitty gritty of it on a scholarly level, a shia who is closest to islam is a shia who is basically a sunni (even nader shah was crypto sunni and heavily sunni sympathizing for example lol)

not saying they aren't muslim btw, just saying that from my perspective, if you're going to be religious, you might as well do it right, and doing it "right" based on every source out there and historical narratives, is basically being a sunni who follows the middle path as they say

I agree to some extent but respecting and following the ahlubait is heavily advised by the prophet and islam, overall There is no major difference between shiasm and sunnism.

Calm down, u can be a hanafi and sufi at the same time. One is a school of jurisprudence, the other group is a spiritual school.

People around me are very anti shia, Including my own father, grandfather. However my best friend is a shia from azerbajian he is more level headed and comes from a nice familiy, he doesn’t hate sunni’s, so I like shia’s tbh. I never understood the hate.
The hate is fueled by salafis as Op said, Most anti shia people don't have much knowledge about actual shia beliefs. They accuse us of insulting the prophets companions and wife which is absolutely bullshit. Especially the prophets wife, I would never dare to do such a thing.

It isn't demon cause the state of haal is actually really enjoyable. Haal happens when the theophany of God descends on the heart and its mentioned in the bible and Quran, how Moses (pbuh) and his followers collapsed on a Mountain when God send a theophany on the mountain Toor . It's found in Abrahamic religion

People look at the Sufism at its surface, see dancing (which isn't even that important of a practice vs zikr) and think it's heresy.

Read about the Saints such as Rabia, Rumi, Jilani, Bulleh Shah, Kubra, and you'll realize they're the true Muslims and the rest of us are insects in comparison to their devotion and knowledge.

Dancing with non muslims , eg Donald Trump= allowed, lol at your hypocrisy and double standards

And they are not praying salah, they are doing zikr which doesn't fix conditions on bodily movements

It's allowed and read the hadith l quoted in the beginning and repent

6 vols. And how is this dikhr you fucking retard?

An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

The scholars interpreted it as referring to their leaping with their weapons and playing with their spears in a manner similar to dancing, because in most of the reports it says that they were playing with their spears. So this wording (dancing) is to be interpreted in a manner that is in accordance with the other reports.

End quote from Sharh Muslim by an-Nawawi (6/186)

There is nothing whatsoever in the actions of the leading scholars and narrators of hadeeth or in the manner in which they classified the hadeeth to support the idea of dancing when remembering Allah (performing dhikr); rather they all included this hadeeth under headings such as “playing on Eid” or “relaxation in Islam” and so on.

Al-Bukhaari included the hadeeth of ‘Aaishah in a chapter entitled “Chapter on those who played with spears in the mosque”

He included the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah in a chapter entitled “Chapter on playing with spears and the like”.

Abu Dawood included the hadeeth of Anas in a chapter entitled “Chapter on the prohibition on singing”

An-Nasaa’i included the hadeeth of ‘Aa’ishah in a chapter entitled “Playing in the mosque on the day of Eid, and women watching that”

An-Nawawi included it in a chapter in Sharh Muslim entitled “Chapter on the concession allowing play in which there is no sin on the days of Eid
