Some people here advocate for sugar & general high glycemic index food consumption because it increases insulin, which is needed for hgh to be converted into igf-1.
But look at this:
Somatostatin is the hormone that inhibits hgh (and also insulin). It's secretion is stimulated by food with high glycemic index.
It also gets raised if you have hypokalemia (potassium deficiency).
If you want to increase igf-1 for muscle (or height jfl) gains you probably don't want to consume too much sugar but rather increase your insulin levels by eating high-protein food.
That's total low IQ broscience tbh so I need someone like @Dyorotic2 to disprove it. Probably that whole thing is just a part of legit autonegative feedback mechanism not letting your insulin and GH to spike into infinity? And there's no difference between the food causing that insulin and subsequent somatostatin rising?
