imagine getting le fort 3, orthognathic surgery, or even heart surgery and the doctor puts you under general anesthesia except....

...your sensory impulses aren't numbed, and you're still internally conscious

Unnamed

you feel everything, including the small incisions all the way to the big transplant that takes place

you feel all the pain but due to general anesthesia, you're still under the paralytic state, unable to move

they even made an anakin skywalker + jessica alba movie all about it:

I used to have quite frequently some episodes of sleep paralysis and it feels like hell even if for a few seconds. Imagine staying that way for hours and also "enjoying" terrible pain

idk if anyone enjoys that pain, but i've heard of sleep paralysis and it sounds like it's a real life nightmare

I was being ironic tbh

but yeah it's horrible, you can only move your eyes. Some people even experience hallucination and see bizarre things.

yeah, a man has a weak heart, goes under surgery, he is technically conscious but unable to move, he has a out of body experience where he can see that his wife paid the doctors to purposely fail his surgery, and he wakes up

It can happen, but most people don't remember it, the anesthesia drugs cause amnesia, being awake and remembering the experience is very rare.

Even if that happens, you would be awake for 3 seconds max, they are working on your face so they would notice. Also, you wouldn't feel much pain due to all the drugs.

bro some cases are horrible. during some open heart surgeries some people have felt the entire thing through

even when you feel it, it is not like you are awake.
