You notice how redditards and NPCs love to parrot and tout this without ever being shown evidence other than other people parroting

Or they’ll say shit like this after reading an article where the article writer is literally just parroting lines from others without showing evidence (lmao)

Literally a big parrot FEST

So where are the studies showing it’s accumulative?

Doesn't that just mean when the damage is done It continues to add up? It makes sense , if you sit out in the sun for a long time the damage will add up and rekt your skin.

Idk, and I don't care to know, nor should you. Wear sunblock and aging will make you look shit whatever you do. Sit in the sun for 24 hours a day or never leave your basement, it wont have many consequences for your loox.
I do believe most the damage comes later in life. I can't remember where I heard that from, but observing 20yo sluts from the 2000's at 40 and you can get and idea who spent every summer roasting like a weenie in the sun.

How do you believe sun damage works then OP?

“Sun damage is accumalitive” as in you’ll get the same amount of damage as going out 10 mins 7 days a week vs 1 hour for one day

Or 5 mins split in intervals etc

Or 3 mins in the sun every hour for 12 hrs will be the same as 1 hour daily

Or that it continues to add up weekly/daily/yearly

i don't believe it's accumulative, i believe it's unnatural to sit in the sun and tan. Minor exposure daily is fine and a lot healthier than extended exposure in a single sitting.

You will get burns so bad you need hospital if you sit in the peak summer sun for 8 hours
BUT
sit in the sun for 20 minutes a day under the same conditions across a few weeks and you will receive a fantastic tan

clearly then the biological processes favour the latter

Can confirm, I do this.

It's bullshit. It's like thinking the damage done to muscles when working out is accumulative. Most tissues in the body can be repaired, skin being one of the most regenerative. DNA damage occurs to cells thousands of times every day and the body is very good at repairing bouts of sun exposure. What causes accumulated damage is metabolic disease, which leads to oxidative stress and free radicals, and 24/7 DNA damage. If sensible sun exposure is like working out, metabolic disease is like rhabdo. Furthermore this metabolic disease inhibits DNA repair (and many other processes, like immune function for example). This is why you see fat unhealthy people getting absolutely ravaged by the sun; it's like how unhealthy fat people get ravaged by a common cold.

The irony is that people are deathly afraid of the sun to the point they will wear dangerous chemicals on their faces all day and develop vitamin D deficiencies rather than risk sun exposure. But they will think nothing of eating sandwiches or drinking alcohol at the weekend.

As others have stated, getting short bouts of regular sun exposure is the way to go, rather than either avoiding the sun entirely, or suddenly going on a 2 week tropical vacation after being a hermit all year.

Keep crying while I walk to the gym with my umbrella 🌂 and park it near the dumbbell rack fully open ☂️
