I found out about sungazing in 2021, which is when I started to stare at the sun for a little as an experiment. But, I only started seriously sungazing in 2023, which is when I got a lot of floaters. I did it on and off during 2023, and I pretty much forgot about it in 2024. But I got back into the rhythm of it recently. I've been sungazing for about 1-2 hours every day for exactly a month now and I swear I can see through my eyelids. I can close my eyes completely shut and manouvere around my house with ease. I can't see clearly with my eyes closed, but I can see enough to get around well enough.

TL;DR sungazing allowed me to see with my eyes closed.

I haven't noticed my iris get any lighter. Though, everyone's eyes are more colourful and lighter in the sun, so it makes sense that a significant amount of sun exposure to the iris over a long period of time could lighten them. Mine are T20.

How exactly is this a benefit?

I see it as a benefit, but not as much as it is an indicator of general benefit. For example, it indicates the general improvement of my vision overall, so much so that I have gained the aforementioned ability of being able to see while my eyes are shut.

Prob not since in theory it would only increse melanin.
If you don't want contacts then healthmaxxing and eating lots of animal fat and removing toxins can maybe lighten your eyes but it takes time, if not you will at least have better health markers
