If your long enough in the sun, even with a hat and dog 50 in your face, you will still eventually tan. Last summer I was with 40 spf and a hat ALL summer and still got hella of a tan.

And maybe reduce it to 35 or 40 spf so it will protect you from uv and you still get a little more tanned

Young skin if you are in good health and not one of those people who can hardly tan at all recovers pretty good from exposure to the sun until your early 30s usually as long as you aren't getting it constantly. Just like with other stuff that starts breaking down as you age. My dad was out in the boat fishing all weekend with no sunscreen when I was growing up and had decent skin for his age and real good skin in his early 30s while doing it. I think if you are in decent health it's about mid 30s when the body doesn't deal with that damage that good unless you are someone who can't tan at all hardly.
