It was February 2019, Super Bowl LIII. I was 11 years old.
We lived in a close-knit cul-de-sac inside a gated community, so everyone knew everyone. One of the families hosted a big Super Bowl party, and my family was invited.
I don't remember most of the party, but one moment from the halftime show is burned into my mind forever.
Maroon 5 was performing, and out of nowhere, Adam Levine took off his shirt.
Instantly, all the married moms started screaming and freaking out over him right in front of their husbands and kids.
I remember looking around at the dads standing there, thinking this was wrong, and getting hit with my very first black pill at 11 years old.
