Surgery for underbite at 18

So for context im 14yo and im from norway, i got told i will be getting a lefort 1 when im 18 since my underbite and told me it will be free. but im scared of getting botched, they said i could try to replace it with a protraction facemask which i can use now and wont have any chances of infections or getting botched, but it will cost me around 50000nok(5k in usd) total.
Should i choose the lefort 1 which will be free or take the protraction facemask?

Protraction facemask is orthopedic, mostly affects soft tissues and adresses the dental root of the issue, its also extremely limited by age and bone adaptability.
The only way to truly correct an underbite at its bony root is by repositioning the maxilla which is done with a le fort procedure. The complication rate is alap very low so no need to be worried about being botched.
