depends on the surgery and your gender preference strength
If you have a strong gender preference, you strongly desire to be a gender (or multiple). E.g. a cis man who wants to be a man and would hate it if he were a woman.
If you have a weak or nonexistent gender preference, you’d be okay with whatever cards you’re dealt. E.g. someone who’d be fine with being born in a male body or a female body; they just go along with whatever and don’t prefer a gender. These people (if born male) can benefit from transmaxing because they wouldn’t get dysphoria when transitioned.
