My chin is slightly recessed, but by pushing my chin skin forwards and relaxing mentalis I get a chin that looks quite good.

What can I do about this that is permanent, aka. not botox?

I will do genio certainly but I am unsure how it would fix my mentalis strain, as it appears that mentalis is in the middle of a chin and genio targets the bottom of it.

Is it possible to do genio while fixing hanging lower lip, and do you think that would solve this?
The mentalis muscle connects to your chin bone, the mentalis muscle helps close the lower lip.

If your chin bone and lower lip are too far apart, and the lower lip is too far from the top lip, the mentalis muscle moves and strains to try and close the lip, hence why u see it in the middle. U need ur chin closer to ur lower lip to not have strain.

But anyway recessed chins basically dont exist (its really that the jaw is too far back), u probably need jaw...

I will most certainly do genio but I am unsure if it would alone remove mentalis strain as it appears like its more upwards than the area where genio is performed

You mean lip incompetence?
I could send you pics + morphs in dm if you want to tell me your opinion.

I have lip incompetence and slightly recessed chin but not a recessed jaw so I guess genio + fixing lip incompetence + removing too much soft tissue could do the trick.

Yes a genio can lift the lower lip up.
