The modern Romanov family is split into two parts: Romanov Family Association and The Russian Imperial House.
Both are made up of patrilineal descendants of Nikolai I, with the second organization exclusively consisting of descendants of Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich (hence they're known as "Kirilovichi").
