Swallowing pills

This might be a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway. I've had trouble swallowing pills and capsules since childhood. It's still a problem for me; I just chew the capsules. Does chewing the pills make them less effective? Do you know any tips that helped you learn to swallow pills?

Swish a bunch of fluid in your mouth then throw all the pills down and quickly swallow

As a kid I couldn’t take pills i always struggled so bad
It’s still kinda ass but you’ll get used to it

I think it's also due to some childhood fear of mine. As a child, these capsules would get stuck halfway down my throat.

it likely didnt get stuck it probably scraped ur throat which wont happen if u take capsules not tablets

Yes chewing makes it less effective as some of the stuff doesnt get absorbed properly

I had the same problem as well while I put the pill in my mouth then tried drinking water to wash it down but I just couldnt bring myself to swallow I dont know why, one thing that helped is taking a gulp of water and keeping it then dropping the pill then swallow. basically just the opposite of normally taking a pill.
