No not a Jew thread about usury

It's entirely down to luck that some people are just interested in things.

For example: in school I liked maths and physics the most. Also geography somewhat.

I could focus enough in class. It was OK, wasn't torture or anything. I could do the homework also.

but it was never like I would rather study maths or whatever, than do something non academic, in my free time e.g. play video games, YouTube, football etc.

but some people are actually obsessed with their field and want to study/work on it all day. Doing a PhD is their enjoyment. It doesn't seem like gruelling hard work to them.

sure you can say that motivation is intrinsic, if you are good at something then you will enjoy it because of your positive treatment, but I think it goes above and beyond that.

also I was good at those subjects I mentioned. Some, one of the best in the year.
But I wasn't math Olympiad tier, and maybe that's how good you have to be to really enjoy a field vs just tolerate it since it makes money etc
