There's no authorities opinion on this, there's a collaborated effort on behalf different scientific communities, research groups and public health facilities that have tracked data on the efficacy and safety of finasteride and the general population for decades that you can deduce your own views from

I'm not sure if the English word placebo is being translated correctly to German so I apologize for that. In simpler terms a placebo group in research is the group that isn't given the drug they're experimenting on. The point of a placebo group is to reflect the experiences of the general population not on the experimental drug so that it can be compared to the people on the experimental drug, which in this case would be finasteride. People in the general population, which would be reflected by the placebo group, experience persistent sexual dysfunction to the equivalent amount that people in the finasteride group would in the same time frame. So do you see now why it's a little irrational to jump to the conclusion finasteride is connected to those persistent issues everytime someone on the internet claims they're having a problem?

It is that complex for FDA approved drugs. The vast majority of drugs fail the insanely strict FDA drug guidelines regarding safety and efficacy issues and it's fucking crazy expensive for companies if their drug fails those trials. They don't pass drugs willy nilly, it's a complex process. It would be nice if they found alternatives to finasteride for dudes too scared to use it though since it does have side effects in a small percent of users, almost every drug that has tried to do what fin does has failed in either efficacy or safety unfortunately
