Is a tall chin with a short ramus (causing high gonial angle) indicative of poor mandible development and downward growth or is a high gonial angle masculine in this regard?

Essentially, if I got chin implants for chin height would the increase in gonial angle be a bad thing and make my jaw look less developed? I have a low gonial angle and a medium height/short chin.

I want to get a taller chin to look more masc but I’m worried that the result will look bad and make me look less properly developed.

Depends on your skull size, width and overall body and neck size

But it's more of a failo

Is chin width the only legit way to look masc then?

how would chin implants affect your gonial angle?

The gonial angle just follows the path of the jaw from the condyloid process (where the mandible meets the ear essentially) to the gnathion (lower border of the chin point).

If the mandible height increases for a constant ramus length (and thus, resulting in an increase in chin height) then this angle will increase.

I've got a long ramus but my chin is not in the ideal range of height, while my gonial angle being exactly 130 degrees. Though the development of the chin itself is mainly dictated by your hormones.

Basically to have a tall chin you need a very tall ramus, which only gigaChads have, otherwise it’s over.

Yeah for aspies maybe but for normies a lot of downward grown people with short ramus have seemingly huge chins aswell see john hamm , both are considered good , but yeah the ones with taller ramus have usually more compact midfaces , ideal is a 115-125 degree gonial angle , 120 being the sweet spot

I changed my mind on this thread anyway since I’m getting chin implants for height. Low gonial angle is cope unless your ramus is tall enough to allow you to have a tall chin despite it, and even then it’s not ideal.

Gonial angle should be on the greater end of low (~120) as too low, like mine is, looks like improper development even if it isn’t. Since my ramus length is quite high but not huge, I can get a tall chin whilst still having an ideal gonial angle, thus looking both more masculine and more properly developed. I’m starting to think that a very tall ramus isn’t ideal.

ideal GA is 120 degrees, but it requires both long chin and ramus. It fits into averageness and dimorphism simultaneously. 115 degrees with even longer both bones look worse cuz it hinders averageness which is as crucial as dimorphism. I have 132 GA (confirmed by cephalo) bc of my robust (square and long) chin, but ramus lacks like 10-20% length, thats why GA is so high. Otherwise it wouldve been like 120-123 degrees which is considered ideal.

assume ramus in this pic ends on that dot. it wouldve had created GA 120-123, hence my side profile wouldve become ideal (i know nose tip shouldnt be that upturned, but idc since its barely a failo tbqh).

@Magnum Opus thoughts, kind sir?

This is why its really hard to rate someones look by just looking at certain measurements. You may think a gonial angle is very masculine but if its because of a really short chin it looks retared. The harmony of the face encompasses the whole skull.
