Tall midface can be a racial trait and not related to recession at all

Ok, early neolithic China is around 6000-2000 BCE? (I'm pulling this with random Google searching.) I don't have a better example, but if we place the authorship of Abraham from the Bible into a range, he was probably from around 6th c. BCE and back then, they were already stewing their meats (with the understanding that his family was considered extremely wealthy). Different region and developments, of course and I recognise this, but not out of the realm of possibility that that the early Chinese knew how to stew meats, too. Maybe it is something that the more wealthy families did. 🤷‍♂️ If so, that skull might not be enough. And if you're poor back then, you might not even have enough food never mind about chewing properly. You probably wouldn't have the necessary nutrients to grow to max genetic potential. Or, you die at a young enough age, or maybe before you finish growing, or before gravity has done its damage on the skull.
Yeah around there. I think east asians ate much harder foods than middle easterners did in that time period, but both groups of people have long midfaces tbh.

I think they actually found the skulls in caves so it's really unlikely, all of them were adult men too. Seems to be a trait all northern ''mongoloid'' like peoples have

yea that's why i mentioned that larger bones, forward growth (to a smaller extent) and downward growth all work together to create long midfaces. these two inuit women have rather small downward growth i'd say, but that downward growth is multplied by their much larger bones. if you put 2 maxillas that are downward grown to the same degree next to each other and one of them is of larger (thus also longer) then that larger maxilla will create a longer midface than the other. the distance from the mouth to the eyes is longer in the face of the person with the larger maxilla if both maxillas are downward grown to the same degree.
that's true. It's just the way their skulls develop I think, but inuit maxillas are quite flat

yeah, through the ANE. They look like very matured versions of east asians

Genetically there very distant apperntly.

That is a massive distance wtf

There's been 20k years for them to develop by themselves tbh, not very surprising to me

What is the origin of the east asiatic race ? did they split from basal eurasian like europeans did ?

I also got to Ask Indians generally fall under the term caucasoid right ? Distance wise they are actually closer to west Asian kalash than they are to East Asians

Even on ANI charts The dna of most Indians is akin to 60 to 80 percent i'm rounding up to the nearest 10 for all of these results BTW. Even the mean weighted FST values puts them closer to Euros.

With all this in mind they would broadly fall into the caucasoid race right ?

I'm East Asian, I have breathing problems. Pretty much all East Asians I know have breathing problems. We just don't talk about it since we think it's normal. We have super soft foods. Just think - we're raised on soy which means lots of tofu & related. Rice -> soft. And all our meats are boiled/steamed till they fall off the bone. Everything is soft foods, easy to chew - all from a young age. Plus, in more developed areas, mothers don't like nursing, they prefer to use bottles and formula. It's seen as more "sophisticated," less of a "commoner" behaviour.
im just curious what does your breathing problem that you and others asians you know entail? like are you short of breathe or something? i have as prototype of a flat face as you can have, dunno if i have breathing problems though

We have difficulty breathing through the nose. As a result, our bodies adapted with "nerd neck" and other ways to open up the airways. Plus, we breathe through the mouth. So we end up with dry mouth, cavities, dry lips, etc. Snoring for both men and women and if it gets worse, sleep apnea. And lastly, tiredness from poor oxygen/nitrogen consumption or something. Sorry, I don't know the technicals of how this part works. Something about the nose and nitrogen. Maybe someone here can explain better. It gets worse with age, of course. None of this is exclusive to East Asians, btw. It's now become a worldwide phenomenon.

Yes, they did
Caucasoids are their closest relatives

Yeah, most indians are just dark skinned caucasoids with much darker skin and more soft tissue fleshiness than europeans

OP it seems you have great knowledge in physical anthropology! I’m from the Maghreb. When I swallowed the blackpill one of the first thing I became really aware of is my chin recession. I started staring at people family members neighbors and strangers in the streets I was surprised that many of them have recessed chin. Is it a racial trait or just due to diet? Or both?

It depends, semitic peoples tend to have a protruded midface in comparison to their mandible which gives them a unique look, but berber features are chiseled and angular in average. Do most of them have overbites and do you too? In that case it's more likely just environmental recession like the sort in euro countries

I really don’t know about the overbites thing! But yes I noticed that my Berber friends are very robust. They unironically look like Stone Age people.
Here is one of them

Non levantine arabs have pretty receded chins (for caucasoids) and gracile mandibles on average so if a maghrebi is mostly arab it could explain it
Otherwise it might be just environmental recession being common

Yeah I’m arab. My family claim Qurayshite ancestry. But they lived amongst Berbers till the mid 19th century (and probably took wives from them) then they moved to an area inhabited by Arabian bedouins. So I suppose I’m an Arab-Berber.
I can show u my pics in pm, if u don’t mind.

@KostyaRin What about South Asians?

South asians tend to have pretty compact midfaces (of course, naturally speaking without downward growth/recession) like europeans do tbh, but maybe less so

True , some races are supposed to have it due to cranial base angle.
Personally my longer nose is due to mouthbreathing since literally everyone in my family Has compact midface, I also used to have it as well as wide mouth( wide palate) .
But life can't be too good , also those who saw me said that my lower third is bigger problem than midface and I agree

Wtf how did they descend this hard to the flat face look wtf
Missed this but it was a neotenization effect
Same happened to europeans and africans on a much smaller scale

Neotanization affect? What selection pressures lead to this

Self domestication. Aggressive traits got bred out of the ancestors of east/southeast asians because they were not needed. East and south east asians formed large societies very early.
If they had androgenic, aggressive people in those societies it would lead to so many problems, thus it was natural selection in a way.
