Well, they care. But you need to be consider human facially. If youre tall and broad as ugly guy you will be just monster. Height is always good to have but it wont make you attractive on its own. You need some face. Some foids care about height more, some not.

But maybe lookism has warped my view on this, I didn’t think this way before seeing the 1000’s of heightmog threads that have been burned into my brain

Probably warped view + instincts. Volume has more presence. I am 162 cm in the Netherlands and face mog tall ppl enough. I even mog them when women give me massages at festivals. I don't even know how this mog is called, but they feel awkward and left out and they often end up leaving or just looking like wtf is going on. Based on my experience of life I've always said and I will keep saying it height is overrated unless you are some anomaly like the Dutch giant. If you get rejected because you are short it just means you are not attractive and need work on your aesthetics. It just an easy copout excuse for women to blurt out "I don't like short men" because it is socially accepted but they probably just think you are overal just unattractive. Hence why it is overrated. If you were tall and she doesn't want you, she will use another excuse.
