The better looking you are naturally, the less you need it

Whereas an average guy can enhance his appeal significantly with a tan, fade and gymcelling
Having a solid tan in the shittish isles is rare, if your face is not rare you need to induce rarity through other halos
If your face is rare you don't need the additional halos
