Tan without getting freckles?

Am ginger, so some amount is unavoidable, but if there is a way to minimize it id like to know. I look so much better with a slight tan even when there is some freckles, but they are still ugly, and they take years to fade so when the overall tan is gone, the freckles are even more noticeable because they are just as dark.

I get boils, but the slight tan thats there after they are gone is worth it
