Are Tanning Beds good? Where i live it gets sunny really late in the year and i dont want to use tanning drops/self tanner bc its not permanent. I wouldnt go overboard i would just get a slight tan so i already have on before it acctually gets sunny. Anyone got Tipps?

Only permanent thing you'll get from tanning beds is cancer

very good on the short term since you will look healthy & tanned, on the long term = cancer and aged skin.

The guy above said it very well. You can use it if you need a quick tan, but they're very damaging to the skin and will only make it look worse with time. Lycopene or beta carotene supplementation are probably much more sustainable and health-looking solutions anyway.

Avoid the sun in general unless it's the morning or the evening, high UVB or UVA rays are incredibly damaging to the skin, even in small quantities, they will age you like nothing and will increase your chances of skincare, specially if you're white.

Tanning either in a tanning bed, on the beach or in your backyard is not recommended.

Colouring is key tho. I use sunscreen daily to mitigate the cancer stuff and skin etc. and i will prob only do tanning bed this year and next year or after summer ill try beta carotene

Yes, skin coloring is important. As I mentioned earlier, you might want to consider beta carotene or lycopene supplements, they’re generally seen as a healthier option and don’t carry the same cancer risks.

But if you’re set on tanning anyway, just make sure you’re fully aware of the potential consequences so they don’t catch you off guard. Keep in mind: sunscreen is literally a screen against the sun. It slows down the tanning process and can lead to patchy or uneven results. If you don’t apply it evenly, you might end up slightly tanned in some areas and completely untanned in others once the sunscreen begins to wear off. Right after applying it, you won’t tan at all, at least until the next 2 hours.

So if you’re going to take the risk, at least skip the sunscreen, unless you’re okay with a streaky, uneven tan.
