Taxes on crypto

Does anyone know how crypto affects taxes. Or how they are taxed. Like let’s say I had $100 in crypto and it 10x and got to 1k, how would that be taxed. Or if I had $150 in crypto and sent it as a payment for something, would that be taxed and how would it be taxed?
