if u really think that the human body can negate the effects of medicine because you believe it is harmful, along with creating side effects based on your beleif, then there is something wrong with you

what do you even mean by isn't real. as in inert drugs don't produce a response?

the placebo effect is fake. an inert treatment cant create a biological response. the response is influenced by mental, social and other factors, no inert substances such as sugar pills.

isn't it wonderful we can disagree
i mean, you do know they claim that placebos still work, even if you are aware that its a placebo.

thats the point.. the substance isnt creating the response which is why you need a placebo control group.

yet, it can create that effect even when you are aware that its a placebo

i dont see how admitting your body can create a response on its own disproves the placebo, when that is exactly what the placebo effect describes...

Because it is an effect that takes place
When the person has the beleif that a substance is an effective drug, yet it also takes effects When the individual knows that it is not a real drug, clearly something Else is at play

yes, the subconcious mind is not a slave to the concious one. even just the ritual of taking medication can illicit a response. fuck me man i thought you had some actual intellectual reasons behind it

"something else is at play" = placebo not real. bro we still do not understand what exactly causes it, the point is ITS FUCKING REAL. .org is too funny man
