idk boss maybe you have a narrow face? because the force obviously travels through your zygos into your face (physics) and having a small and narrow face obviously means the teeth are closer. They shouldnt really hurt though maybe youre activating youre muscles because youre bonesmashing too hard and it hurts. Just tap with slight force instead so you damage the bones and dont shatter them or something
