It's entirely down to their OpSec and what trace they leave. If their OpSec is tight enough, your chances of finding them is slim. Social engineering is your best bet. Also, VPNs are a lie. If the VPN you're using is apart of the five eyes, it's not safe. Only VPNs stored on RAM servers, hosted on a VPS in some country like Yemen which doesn't cooperate with global law enforcement are decent.

I'm sorry to break it down for you, but you can't, don't trust any of these guys; they'll just scam you. I've been a smaller telegram scammer, and your money are going through multiple accounts, so it's not traceable.
