lets say an older man you know lived a shitty life and made a lot of mistakes and is trying to give you advice. doesnt it make sense to just listen to them telling you what NOT to do instead of what theyre telling you to do? because they made the wrong choices and thats how they know their bad since it didnt turn out good for them but now theres multiple other choices they couldve made and how could they know which is the right one! no point of them guiding you on what to do because clearly they aint too good at choosing the right path! its like a homeless person telling you how to get rich. ofcourse you wont listen! if it works why arent you rich! but you would listen if they were a billionaire. if the homeless person is telling you what NOT to do then yeah you would probably listen so you dont turn out like them
