Thinking about how life is really just a search for dopamine saddens me because it feels so very superficial

Like, meaning should trump the search for dopamine, but often it doesn’t;

Temporary pleasure usually always wins; you can make a conscious decision to try and create meaning in your life, but that's not often the best-looking choice.

That itself is hard to find, and I believe most people will die and won't be able to accomplish the life they could have for themselves.

We spend close to 90% of our day on the search for temporary pleasure; it's innate, it's what our brains desire, but in this modern society, the brain's reward system gets very twisted and is manipulated to an unnatural extent.

If we only have this limited time on earth, shouldn’t we be thinking about and making moves toward our actual goals in this life?

I feel that most of us take the gift of life for granted because it's all we have ever known, but knowing it will end at some point should knock you into the present.

How others view you is very important to me, but for me, LMS is just a prerequisite that I need to accomplish and maintain to then move on and live a free and fulfilled life.

Very scrambled thoughts. Thought I would share though. It's something that has been on my mind a lot lately.

TLDR: Autist spreads his thoughts about temporary pleasure and the search for meaning.
