It's obvious that the blackpill is real and anyone with a functioning brain believes in it, but the terminology always has people disagreeing with it, if rather you had said you believe in lookism they would all applaud you, now it's obvious that people have a negative connotation attached to whatever lingo inkwells use, but a lot of terms they use such as based also come from such spaces

If something is recognizably associated with a stigmatized community, then of course it isn't going to catch fire in the mainstream. It does depend on the nature of the stigma, though. A lot of slang used by young people today is actually just coopted from AAVE, and it's not like that community isn't stigmatized; it's that the stigma historically associated with that kind of language has been deemed as problematic, so it is now embraced as something that holds value. But the stigma around incel communities will never be deemed "cool", obviously.

Finally, someone with a functioning brain in the replies, while yes I agree that it's partly to do with the community as to why it's stigmatised, but a lot of terms used on 4chan get popularised and used by left leaning/ progressive individuals and loads of inkwell terms are used unironically by said individuals such as "chad" so I'm wondering what the criteria is for the terms to get adopted by the mainstream, even the term "looksmaxing" has been destigmatize imo

It's not black and white. Terms like "Chad" can be encountered in other spaces if they take on somewhat of a new life. But there are still constraints. You're never really going to encounter the term in communities that don't have a grasp of internet subcultures.

As for the criteria, the general principle of why certain pieces of language gain popularity applies here as well. If there's a substantial, wide-reaching enough reason for its usage, it will thrive. But I recognize that's a very simplistic framing of it. Look into the study of linguistics if you want a better answer.
