I would have been too afraid to ask a foid to prom when I was in high school. Even at 34, if there was an equivalent of a prom for 34 year olds, I'd be too scared to ask a foid.

I've already known for many years I'm terrible at askouts. Hell, even when I was in middle school, I knew I was terrible at askouts.

Finding out my cousin who's young enough to be my kid is better at askouts than me, however, really put it into perspective. I've officially reached rock bottom.

As for what led to my fate: When I was my younger cousin's age, I was terrible at askouts. And I didn't get much better (at askouts) with age.

It's not like your problems miraculously disappear just because you reach a certain age.

I don't have a girlfriend, no. I wouldn't say it's delusional to say I prefer rotting if I can't slay. Venting on this forum (and getting to chat with others in the same boat as me, even if most are much younger than me) is a good outlet.

I don't really have friends, no. A female "friend" used me for emotional support earlier this year after becoming separated from her husband. Now that they've patched up the marriage, that foid acts like I don't exist.

Then there's this one guy I text with a lot, yet only meet up with him maybe twice a year. So I suppose it's a stretch to call him a friend.
